3.1 User Interface for Windows

3.1.1 How to switch between Across Server and Across Client on Windows

Switch from Across Client to Across Server: Right-clicking the system tray icon and then clicking the [Switch to Server Mode]-item from the pop-up menu will switch the operation mode.

Switch from Across Server to Across Client: It can be done by either 1) right-clicking the system tray icon and then clicking the [Switch to Client Mode]-item from the pop-up menu, or 2) the [Switch to Client Mode]-item from the main menu.

3.1.2 Across Server User Interface for Windows

System Tray Icon

When Across Server runs, the program icon appears in the system tray. Right-click on the icon will pop up a menu. The system tray icon changes its shape corresponding to the current status of Across Server.

Across Center
  • Main and central user interfaces for Across Server
  • It is launched by one of the following three methods: 1) double-clicking the system tray icon, 2) right-clicking the system tray icon and then clicking the [Open Across Center]-item from the pop-up menu, or 3) the Across Center open hotkey.

License Manager
  • You can activate or deactivate your product key and can also extend the license period of your product key in this manager.
  • It is launched by choosing the [Help] and then the [License Manager] from the main menu.
Keyboard Hotkey Settings
  • You can configure the keyboard hotkeys in this window.
  • It is launched by either 1) the [Keyboard Hotkey]-item on the toolbar of Across Center, or 2) the [Keyboard Hotkey]-item from the main menu.

Mouse Hotkey Settings
  • You can configure the mouse hotkey in this window.
  • It is launched by either 1) the [Mouse Hotkey]-item on the toolbar of Across Center, or 2) the [Mouse Hotkey]-item from the main menu.

Bluetooth Pairing
  • It guides you to easily accomplish Bluetooth pairing between the Across Server computer and a client device.
  • It is launched by pressing the [Pairing]-button on Across Center.
Client Device Settings
  • You can configure settings for a client device, including its name, icon and properties in this window.
  • You can open this window for a client device in the [Paired Devices]-list or the [Client Devices Layout]-group on Across Center by one of the following three methods: 1) double-clicking the icon of the device, 2) clicking the icon of the device and then pressing the [Settings]-button in the [Client Device Properties]-group, or 3) right-clicking the icon of the device and then clicking the [Settings]-item from the pop-up menu.

Multimedia Control
  • You can input multimedia keys to a client device in this window.
  • You can open this window by one of five methods: 1) the [Multimedia Keys Input]-item on the toolbar of Across Center, 2) the [Multimedia-Key Input]-item from the main menu, 3) the [Multimedia-Key Input]-item from the menu popped by right-click on the system tray icon, 4) right-clicking the icon of a client device in the [Client Devices Layout]-group and then clicking the [Multimedia Key Input]-item from the pop-up menu, or 5) the Multimedia-Key Input Window open hotkey.

Bluetooth Devices Manager (provided by Windows OS)
  • You can manage all Bluetooth devices in this manager.
  • You can open this manager by 1) the normal access provided by Windows OS or 2) the [Bluetooth Devices]-item on the toolbar of Across Center.

Menus

System Tray Menu: You can open this menu by right-clicking the system tray icon.

Main Menu: If the main menu is configured to be automatically hidden, pressing an <Alt> or <F11> key in Across Center shows the main menu.

Toolbar Customization Menu: Right-click on the toolbar of Across Center shows this menu.

Client Device Context Menu: Right-clicking the icon of a client device in the [Paired Devices]-list or the [Client Devices Layout]-group on Across Center shows this menu.

3.1.3 Across Client User Interface for Windows

Bluetooth Device Pairing Manager (provided by Windows OS)
  • This manager finds any nearby Bluetooth devices and makes the Windows client device paired with the Across Server computer.
  • It can be launched by either 1) the normal access provided by Windows OS, or 2) the [Add an Across Server]-item from the menu popped by right-click on the system tray icon.
